UnnayanNews an alternative media platform that actively promotes multimedia journalism, human rights and development issues by producing and publishing news and content linked with local and regional issues. It is a nonprofit wing of Machizo Multimedia Communication.

Publishing news and contents on social development and professional skill development particularly youth and media practitioner are the mission of UnnayanNews.

“News Makes Development” is the motto of UnnayanNews. It believes every news has some impact. However by getting real news people involve, inspire and moving forward for development.

Every human has rights to know, every human has rights to say. Knowing and saying starts the dialogue. And the dialogue makes development. So it actively promotes and publishes the news with vision the benefit of majority peoples. However it does advocacy for majority access to information and democratic participation in development process that profoundly impact to solve the digital divide, poverty alleviation and human rights development as well as to establish the desired harmonious, peaceful information society.

This first South Asian multimedia journalism initiative was stated on 2002 by publishing the UnnayanNews listserv. Since inception, June 2002 the listserv UnnayanNews is disseminating the development news, opportunities and success stories. Presently it is connected with 4300 NGOs and development practitioners of South Asia.
