We, as community broadcasters, are acutely aware that dominant patterns
of production and consumption are causing environmental devastation,
resource depletion and extinction of species. The benefits of
development are not shared equitably and the gap between rich and poor
is widening.

At present, the *UPEACE Costa Rica Campus* has 150 students from 55 different countries, making it one of the most diverse universities in the world for its size. UPEACE is the only institution in the UN family authorized to grant degrees at the Master’s and Doctoral levels. The
language of instruction is English.

This year’s information kit for Human Rights Day 2008 (to be observed on 10 December) is now available. Feel free to use its contents as you wish for your events and activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). You can adapt them to your
audiences and translate them into your local language.

The University of Leeds is pleased to offer at least twelve Fully-Funded International Research Scholarships (FIRS), which are available for high quality international students who will be commencing PhD research study from Session 2009/10 for study in any Faculty at the University. The
Scholarships may be held for up to three years, subject to satisfactory academic progress. The Scholarships will provide full international fees together with a maintenance grant of £13,290 for Session 2009/10.
