Call for Proposals: Gender and Innovation
This call aims to examine gender from a wider perspective of innovation systems in developing countries. It will support research towards understanding impediments to innovation processes being influenced by women, opportunities to promote greater involvement and influence by women and the differential impacts (real and perceived) of existing innovation systems on women.

The family is the cornerstone of society, is the center of peace and violence, can be called, “mini government”. Sometimes it is called family is the school of love. As the first institute, in the family individuals should be able to learn about all basic norms, values and character.
A huge number of garment workers live in Savar, one industrial belt, 20 kilometres remote from the capital city Dhaka. The workers need at least Tk 2000 a month to maintain minimum standard of life with three times meal and small shelter. But the workers get only monthly wage is only Tk 922. S/he lives every moment lives with financial crisis. How miserable their life style.
Women in Bangladesh have come increasingly under acid attacks as a form of retaliation, killing some and disfiguring many for life. As the attacks increase, Bangladeshi civil society is agitating for stricter punishments for the criminals and greater care for the victims. “Facing the Future” is a famous video documentary on this issue.
